Board Certified Ophthalmologist
Dr. Winchester earned her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She did her internship in Internal Medicine at Cornell University New York Hospital and completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago. Dr. Winchester then completed a fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at the University of Iowa.
She is a graduate of Amherst College, where she double majored in Philosophy and Russian. After graduation, she became head of the Russian Department at a Manhattan private school. "In my free time, I volunteered in the Children's Ward of Sloan-Kettering Memorial Cancer Center and a light went on inside me. I had to become a doctor."
Dr. Winchester enjoys yoga, hiking, biking and skiing with her family and has been on volunteer medical missions performing cataract surgery in Madurai India and Mombasa, Kenya
After working at several other ophthalmology clinics in Portland, Dr. Winchester opened Eye Care Northwest, her own state-of-the-art medical practice, including evidence-based guidance on nutrition, exercise and other lifestyle choices in support of optimal eye health.
